Every year, May 28th (5/28) is recognized as Period Poverty Awareness Day. This day was picked as a symbolic choice because the average period is 5 days long and comes every 28 days.
Period Kits is hosting 5 kit builds and get togethers at various times and locations across the metro on Saturday to build kits. The information is below. Please come join us at whichever location is closest to you!

According to a 2019 study done by the Alliance for Period Supplies, 1 in 7 women and girls in Colorado live below the Federal Povery Line. This number doesn't include trans and non-binary folks, so we can assume that the number of mensturators in Colorado living below the FPL is higher than that report.
At Period Kits, we believe that no one struggling to meet their basic needs should ever have to choose between buying food, diapers, medicine, etc, etc, and period products. These kit builds that we host allow us to provide free period products to our neighbors, so they don't have to choose.
